Self Supporting Artists Seeking Information About Bankruptcy

I am a self supporting artist and have been a professional stone carving artist for over thirty five years. I have lived through a time in history, the first time in history, that artists have been able to make a living from their art. Not that artists did not make a living before this time but they were few and far between. Now, in this economic climate, many of my fellow artists are looking for bankruptcy information. People are scared nationwide, worldwide I hear. People are not spending their money. And the first to feel it, the holding back on spending, are we artists. Our work is about ‘discretionary income’ and when discretions get tight, art is not purchased. Very little of it is purchased in any case. As pros, we are hanging in there. I detect that my ‘warrior artist’ is emerging. I can create a new reality, new possibilities. I know how to stir the pot. I have been doing it for a long time, stirring this brew, bringing possibility to a boil. Like our new President Obama says, we have to re-energize our life with alternative and renewable energy sources. That is what we do as human artist beings.
